Listen to the single ”If ya wanna love again” here:

HIFLY is a brand new power trio with the energetic guitarist Filippa Nassil at the wheel. If Ya Wanna Love Again is the band’s first single, which will be released on May 15th via her very own label Raspberry Rocks and Sound Pollution Distribution.

After playing three chord rock for six years with Thundermother, she started HIFLY as a side project, in which she claims to want to express herself more deeply in the trio format. She has written, produced, recorded and will now release the music herself. While Filippa is best known as the lead guitarist in Thundermother, HIFLY is her debut as a lead vocalist.

”This time I jumped at the chance to sing and started a trio, instead of the classic four piece with a vocalist in front. The music is a mix of blues, rock and country. Having fun with an open mind is the key to this band!”.

She is joined in the band by Sara Pettersson on bass and Tilda Stenqvist on drums, as well as several guest musicians on the album, such as Pontus Snibb (Bonafide), Mats Rydstrom (Abramis Brama), Alexander Norberg (Vag) and others.

”I met bass player Sara Pettersson and liked her from the start. She is energetic, just like myself. Tilda Stenqvist plays with me in Thundermother, and we had our first band together in high school, so it seemed natural to have her on board behind the drums.”

Filippa has also started the record company Raspberry Rocks to release the music she likes. The HIFLY single If Ya Wanna Love Again will be followed by the album Stop Messing Around on June 13th – the very same day that the band make their live debut with a performance at the Pick Up The Steam festival in Stockholm. The album will also be released on vinyl later this summer.

”It’s a dream come true to release a solo album on my own label, it’s something I’ve dreamt about since I was little. Many let others do the job for them, but I have a passion beyond the normal, so I probably do things better myself. I think more people should take matters into their own hands and release their music. There are hardly any rock labels with female bosses in the world, so I thought I would be one of the first”.
